Also called the "Carpathian Curvature Depression" or the "Depression of Brasov", The Barsei Country is a historic and ethnographic region of the south-east of Transylvania, Brasov being the most important locality. It’s an area where the mountain tourism and agrotourism are practiced.

The area includes the Postavaru Massif that surrounds the Poiana Brasov resort. Those who visit the area must not leave without seeing the “Narcissi Clearing”, declared natural reservation. Also, the Tampa natural reservation protects a series of species of animals and insects.

Although the term “Country” is used, it does not imply any political, social or administrative statute.
